A 12-year-old Oklahoma girl shot and injured a home intruder last Wednesday. The girl took matters into her own hand and decided to shoot the intruder while he was turning the door knob.
Huffingtonpost.com reported that the girl, Calera, had called her mother during the incident. The mother gave the daughter instructions to take the family gun, hide, and phone the police.
Calera did what her mother instructed, but decided to confront the intruder. Police have reports that the girl shot the home invader before he had a chance to enter the house, by shooting through the front door while the intruder was messing with the door knob.
Oklahoma girl, Calera, is a good American breed girl. It is very difficult to see a child in a situation like this one, but, for sake of goodness, the girl prevailed.
Also, the incident could have been traumatizing, but it was better for the girl to have defended herself than ending up dead or even kidnapped.
This time around, a gun is seen as something that could be used for saving lives instead of taking lives. Well, it almost took the life of one person, but it was the bad guy this time around.
