The teen accused of killing Jessica Ridgeway reportedly came from a broken home; his parents divorced over a decade ago when he was around five years old. The estranged father of the murder suspect has released a statement regarding this gruesome case, but where has he been while his son was allegedly out victimizing women with chemical soaked rags and kidnapping little girls for horrific reasons?

In Robert Sigg's statement to the press, he shared his condolences with the family of the 10-year-old slain child. He also expressed his own disappointment in his teenage son who is accused of the carnage. Of everything he said, however, one thing can be agreed upon fully:
"I ask also for your prayers and support for Austin's mother, whose courageous act ... unimaginably painful for any parent ... has put this tragedy on the path to resolution. I am hopeful that as the legal process unfolds, the Ridgeway family may come to know peace," he said.
He's right. The mother of Austin Sigg took a big step in urging her son to confess to police after turning him in. However, it still hasn't been addressed as to how she happened to find out about the girl's murder. The details reported in the media are vague at best. How long did she know before she made this decision? Was she aware that pieces of the girl's remains under her home? How long did it take to convince Austin Sigg to turn himself in to authorities?
There are still a lot of questions to ask regarding the murder of Jessica Ridgeway and how a 17-year-old boy happened to be the suspect accused of killing her. Hopefully with time those questions are answered.
