Gilberto Valle, the NYPD officer accused of cannibalism, exhibited bizarre behavior during his college days, according to a former classmate of his at the University of Maryland.
"I'm floored, but somewhat unsurprised. He just came off kind of hostile, but in a joking way. In retrospect, I can see how it was a mask for deeper issues." said Janel Quarless, who graduated in 2006. "I can't say that I'm shocked."
So, what was Janel's reaction when heard the news of Valle's arrest? "I started shaking, more so because, at one point, I was acquainted with a future psychopath," she said.
The news of Valle's arrest must be unnerving for any woman who ever spent time alone with him. What was going through his twisted mind while you were with him? Was he fantasizing about eating your flesh? How would you react if someone from your past, was discovered to be a cannibal?
If Valle is really guilty of what he is accused of, he needs to spend the rest of his life behind bars. Someone who enjoys eating other human beings should not be strolling the streets. The NYPD officer earned the moniker, "The Cannibal Cop," for his grisly plot to allegedly kidnap, rape, and dine on the flesh of 100 women.
