The suspect in the Jill Meagher murder was rushed from prison to St. Vincent's Hospital after he allegedly attempted suicide. Adrian Ernest Bayley is scheduled to go into surgery later today, but other details are not yet known. What does look apparent is that the suspect in the Melbourne woman's horrific rape and murder looks like he's trying to get out of the responsibility of his alleged actions.
Hopefully Adrian Ernest Bayley is fine, because he needs to face justice for what happened to the woman he's accused of victimizing. If he were to be successful at taking his own life, the community would certainly be in a state of outrage.
Jill Meagher went missing after a night of drinking with friends in Melbourne, Australia. She was last seen walking home, but never made it. Several days after she vanished Bayley was arrested and he was soon charged with rape and murder. Her body was soon located in a shallow grave not far from where she vanished. Her story captured international attention, so to hear that this guy is trying to get out of things by killing himself is pretty unnerving. Hopefully there will still be justice for Jill.
