Forget Texas. Don't mess with Planned Parenthood! The provider will remain a part of Texas' women's health program thanks to a restraining order that is stymieing the state's plans to eliminate the organization from their state programs. This comes in response to a lawsuit filed by the organization conjures the federal government, which supersedes the powers of the Lonestar state.

Planned Parenthood is among the largest providers women's health and family planning services in the nation. Contrary to what propagandists on the far right want you to believe, abortions aren't a large percentage of the services offered by PP. Mammograms, preventative health care, and other absolutely necessary services are provided by this women's health care organization.
Kudos goes to the State District Judge Amy Clark-Mechum for issuing the restraining order that's keeping PP in Texas. Without this judge's fair eye for justice, there would be a big problem with available health care for women in the state, and while women may be nothing more than a commodity to the republicans, they are human beings and Americans who deserve to have available preventative health care.

i don't see why everyone wants to shut down Planned Parenthood.
Everyone dosen't. It's only the far rigthwing extremist of the Republican Party who are determined to stop modern society from committing what they believe is an affront to their God and an abomination in regards to their religious teachings. {i.e.} abortion.
Those extremist are biased and prejudice against anyone who does not believe religiously as they do, but, they deny that obvious fact. Stating that it is we, who are such, because we will not allow ourselves to be subserviant to their religiously fanatical will.
I gave thee life when thy bones formed in the womb. (So before bones form in the fetus it is not life as defined by God?)
Quite confusing! Explains why many prefer to thump the book rather than read it or discuss it rationally.
For every Alpha there is an Omega in the Bible.
My goodness, those of us who actually support women and their rights are correct are so many things!
Yes you are right, in your statement, but allow me to expand on your comment.
Planned Parenthood, by referring their patients to other sources and/or clinics where specialized physicians can be seen and specific medical proceedures can be performed, does indicate that PP is doing anything which private family doctors don't on a daily basis.
Medicine today, is quite specialized and divided into thousands of individualized fields of study and specific dedicated maintenance of the body and mind. Therefore, in modern society, very few doctors or medical clinics can be found which perform more than one or two types of care for their patients, relying on the expertise of specialist in required fields to handle anything beyond their individual knowledge and training.
I recently read with amusement, a comment by another member who posed the question, Why would anyone pay PP to be referred elsewhere for medical proceedures which PP does not perform. As if, PP is expected to perform all medical needs of their patients. Totally disregarding altogether, that specialized treatment and proceedures call for specialized knowledge and ability to perform.
Get a copy of a local church's budget.
Compare how much was spent for sheet music and Christmas Pageant fol-d-rol versus what was spent on supporting unwed pregnancies, or single mothers.
Pause, chew your pencil and ask yourself, was that what that wierd Father Knows Best shout out was about by Mitt?
