It's that time of year when military servicemen and women are recognized for their brave contributions for protecting the United States. A lot of businesses and want to give something back as part of their appreciation. Veterans Day 2012 freebies will be offered by several restaurants. One of the major restaurants in the nation giving free food to veterans is Outback Steakhouse.
In honor of Veterans Day 2012, Outback will offer a free Bloomin' Onion and Coke to all military personnel on Nov. 11 and 12. There's no purchase required to get the freebie.
Forms of ID accepted are showing U.S. Uniform Services Identification Card, U.S. Uniform Retired Identification Card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES), Veterans Organization Card (i.e. American Legion and VFW), ID, wearing uniform, DD214 Certificate, Veteran Identification Card (VIC), and a photograph in U.S. uniform.
Not only do military members get the Veterans Day 2012 freebies at Outback, they also get an extra 10 percent off military discount when any of the above forms of ID are shown for the dates Nov. 13 through Dec. 31, 2012.
Outback has a longstanding tradition of honoring veterans and their efforts. Several volunteer employees have traveled to Afghanistan to feed American troops. In total, they've made nine trips to the Middle East and have given food to over 215,000 troops.
