That is truly awful. I have problems with law enforcement officials anyway - and this just verifies my feelings that many are in it because they love brutality and bullying others. Sure, there are some good ones - there always are. but many like the power that goes with the badge and the gun.

There were numerous calls to assassinate Romney, one made by a school board official - who got to keep his job, by the way, after he said it was a "joke".

Renee - I have seen examples of the brutality and bullying - esp. in the city where I live. While it may not be against people who threatened Romney or Obama - it's against those who do not deserve it.

If you had actually read the Obamacare bill, and not just the parts that Republicans are upset about, you will find that the bill does not state that anyone "has" to buy health insurance. They will pay a fee if they do not, but those who have car insurance do not "have" to buy it. They will pay a fine if they do not, of course. People don't "have" to pay their taxes on time, but they will pay a fee if they do not.

This country is in a crisis of epic porportions when it comes to health care. Millions are uninsured and if they have to go to the hospital, they ruin their credit because the bill goes on there. Millions cannot get insurance because of pre-existing conditions and millions more are dropped by their insurance if they get sick. Yes, I do believe that everyone will have health care, because they will be able to get insurance without paying a ridiculous premium, and they will be able to keep their insurance even after they get sick.

What I don't understand Mark-John K. is why you want all of those suffering people who have been dropped or can't get insurance and are in financial ruin because of medical bills to keep suffering.

You need to investigate a bit more. My wife and I have gone through this with his school, he's 14. He currently has gall bladder issues, so when he eats fresh salad, we always end up leaving work to go pick him up because he's throwing up. He was told that he HAD to try the salad. I had to talk to the school and tell them that they can't make him eat anything. I was told that he has to take it, but he doesn't have to eat it.

So all that's going on is the kids HAVE to take this 'healthy' food, but most of them don't eat it, so they throw it away.... Does this sound good to you?

We now just pack his lunch so he (and us) don't have to deal with any more liberal crap at his school.

Alex, you are completely correct. Kids in many Schools have actually began holding "protests," and refusing to take the 'required' food, en masse.

Most of the rubbish being served, does, as you've said, end up in the bin. Now, School-Agers aren't eating enough...

Seems to me the hue and cry over the HRA is the exact same issue--requiring people to be responsible for themselves and at least offering an option to those who would otherwise be unable to participate in the commercial programs. Otherwise, those too broke to pay for private insurance might wind up being thrown in jail, where they would recieve two meals a day and free healthcare...a Republican nightmare if I ever heard one, unless all they really wanted was to get those folks out of sight so they could put them out of their mind.

I'm sorry you don't seem to have a good understanding of ACA (Obamacare). While it's theory (everyone gets medical insurance) is sound, it's implementation is nothing but a pile of steaming crap. If you haven't thought about it or noticed, it's the middle class that gets hurt by this. My wife just received a raise finally, along with a 20% health premium increase due to ACA. Her net check is now LESS than before her raise. My premiums are due to go up 20% before the end of the year also. Yes, people can't get kicked off, pre-existing no longer matters, etc, etc. But along with gas prices (going down some, but still not good), grocery prices, utility prices, lack of raises/bonuses, on top of that my wife and I are losing more than $200 more a month now due to ACA. Also we have tax increases coming up, you really think that only the rich will have their taxes raised?

And don't get me started on moochelle's dietary 'rules'. For one thing, she obviously doesn't follow them. For my son's school to be telling me that he is ok on an 800 calorie diet is completely against what this country was founded on. I told the school to go get f*cked and he brown bags it now with plenty of food to keep an active 14 year old boy healthy. If moochelle wants to stop the obesity then just clamp on down on what people on food stamps can buy. I'm sick of seeing my tax dollars going to buy red bulls, chips, candy, twinkies (not for long), etc.

Do you honestly think that the insurance companies are just going to eat the cost of being forced to offer more coverage, the cost of more personnel to abide by regulations, etc? Private insurance companies are in business to make a profit. That added cost is going to be passed down to the consumer... the middle class employee.

My wife and I don't work at the same company, she has Blue Cross Regence, and Regence is the company that handles the paper work for my company.

My wife also works in the medical insurance industry, so she's very aware of what ACA does and doesn't do. Her company has spent the past year ramping up to abide by all the new regulations. Not a single person that works at her company likes ACA or supports it.

This is what I don't get about you liberals. I come to you with truth straight from real life occurances, and you still call it bs since it doesn't fall into your fantasy world.

Are you going to call bs also on the fact that as of Oct 1st, 7000 people in my county got added onto Medicaid, and as of Dec 1st, 13000 more are going to be eligible? Yet ACA doesn't increase the monies to the contracted companies that handle all this additional paperwork. The company has to hire more RN's to deal with the authorizations, and they get paid less than they did before. By the way, the population in my county is around 80k, so that's approximately a bit over a 1/3 with medical insurance on my tax dollars.

The hospital here in town is buying up any and every medical business they can right now. Why? Because their medicare/medicaid reimbursements are going down. Illegals are still going to use ER as a revolving door, those below 133% poverty level are still not required to have insurance, so can do the same. Those that are covered by the government are going to earn the hospital/doctors even less. The dramatically increased taxes on medical equipment is going to hit the hospitals/doctors. The outcome? The middle class pays even HIGHER bills when we have to go to the hospital.

If you liberals are unable to do the logic and math on all of this, then it's no wonder you support a party that is taking this country down.

The important thing to me was that the guy resigned. It was the right thing to do, although I imagine he had the choice of resign or be fired for cause. I don't doubt that there is a fair number of people who would make statements like that. Celebrities, political figures, and others in the public eye get death threats all the time.

The problem isn't right wing or left wing. It's our species.
