The murder of Jersey Bridgeman was allegedly committed by neighbor Zachary Holly, who was not a relative or necessarily "known" to the family of the slain child. This is a heartbreaking story, but it looks like there will be justice for the 6-year-old child.
He has been charged with capital murder, kidnapping and burglary related crimes, but most information related to his arrest won't be made public until tomorrow. What's fortunate is that the person believed responsible is now behind bars, and the community can relax a little bit -- but not too much. That's because there are predators everywhere, and you can never be too careful with your children.
It was earlier reported that registered sex offenders had been investigated in all of this. Is the 20-something that was arrested a registered sex offender or is this one of his first offenses? Hopefully more information comes out about Zachary Holly, and hopefully he has something to say about the murder he is accused of committing. In the meantime, funeral arrangements have been made for Jersey Bridgeman, and she will be laid to rest with her loved ones knowing that she will get justice.
