December 21, 2012 is less than three weeks away and although NASA and the US government are saying that the Mayan doomsday theories are nonsense, it seems some astrophysicists think otherwise.
Directly contradicting the theory that nothing will happen on 12/21/12, some astrophysicists are reportedly building survival bunkers to protect them from whatever happens on the supposed end date.
"I don't have an opinion on the Mayan calendar. But, when astrophysicists come to me, buy my shelters and tell me to be prepared for solar flares, radiation, EMPs... I'm going underground on the 19th and coming out on the 23rd. It's just in case anybody's right," said Ron Hubbard, who has been building survival shelters for over 30 years. He says that he used to build a few a month until recently when he began building at least one per day because demand became so high.
It seems very odd that astrophysicists are buying survival bunkers and yet NASA is saying not to worry because nothing will happen. It's fact that the sun is on a cycle that will send out increasingly strong solar flares and CME's towards earth, but will it affect earth on December 21, 2102?
What do you think of the fact that scientists are preparing themselves for chaos yet they're telling the citizens not to be concerned?
