The Friday shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut has left people heartbroken and shocked. Why would someone open fire at a school? How could they take 20 innocent little lives? Of course, there are more questions than answers when it comes to this story, but luckily some things are starting to come together.
As can be imagined, immediately following the massacre, there was media chaos. The wrong man was initially identified as the shooter and details were sketchy. The public now knows that Adam Lanza, not his brother Ryan (as previously reported), was the shooter and that the man had some issues (to say the least). The names of the victims have also been released, which has made the tragedy even harder to comprehend.
On Saturday, the shooter's father, Peter Lanza, released a statement saying, "Our hearts go out to the families and friends who lost loved ones and to all those who were injured. Our family is grieving along with all those who have been affected by this enormous tragedy. No words can truly express how heartbroken we are. We are in a state of disbelief and trying to find whatever answers we can. We too are asking why. We have cooperated fully with law enforcement and will continue to do so. Like so many of you, we are saddened, but struggling to make sense of what has transpired."
Peter Lanza has been left with many questions, just like the parents of the victims, as well as the general public. His ex-wife was also killed at the hands of his son, Adam Lanza.
There are truly no words to describe the tragedy that occurred Friday in Newtown, Connecticut. It was senseless and shouldn't have happened. There is no doubt that the entire nation is saddened that so many children lost their lives. Many people are praying for the small town tonight.

I have written many, many letters, articles, blogs and whatever over the years about guns, the NRA, the killings of countless innocent people and shootings at schools.
Guns MUST be banned.
The NRA has often said that "Guns don't kill people. People kill people."
That is BS.
People use guns to kill other people and they have done so in record numbers.
Society is out of control when it comes to violence and guns are a major part of the problem.
Gun owners and the NRA always use the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States Bill of Rights as proof of their "right" to bear arms.
The Second Amendment is outdated and assault weapons and other like weapons have no place in society.
Such weapons are only used to kill people.
We the majority of the people have had enough of gun violence and the deaths of so many innocent people including children because of guns.
The NRA needs to shut up because the people's right to be free from gun violence far outweighs the right to bear arms.
If (God forbid) your child becomes another shooting victim, I'm sure you will agree.

There is no use banning Guns, but it sure is a little step.
We need to understand that 'the mad' has finally found their easiest way of letting go , ie., on Kids. Earlier it was celebrities or big names in Politics, then innocent travelling people or those in public places. Now the easiest victims. We should understand these so called 'mad'.
If there is a will there sure is a way. The Government should exercise that.
Immediately.
Do you think criminals or law abiding citizens will be the first to posses a gun that has been banned?
The lesson learned here is not that guns need to be banned but that gun-free zones are the first place that criminals target.
The second amendment is needed now more than any other time in history.
