Accused Dark Knight gunman James Holmes bizarrely has groupies who may show up in court next week, during a pivotal hearing expected to last several days.
"I have written to him. I am writing to him, other than that, I don't expect anything back, honestly. Because he doesn't know who we are. He doesn't know who his supporters are. He doesn't know who the people who hate him are, really. I don't think he really knows what is going on," said Misty Benjamin. "I know a lot of people hate him or are against him. I don't have any ill will against him."
Granted, there is the presumption of innocence until proven otherwise, and Holmes hasn't yet been convicted. But, he is obviously a complete lunatic, who allegedly massacred 12 innocent people who were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. How can you support a person like that? The former graduate student at the University of Colorado-Denver is charged with opening fire inside a multiplex on July 20, during a screening of the Dark Knight Rises.
Will Benjamin and other James Holmes backers show up this week? Should they be allowed inside the courtroom? And, if they are present, how will the victims' families react to seeing them, rooting on the person responsible for their suffering?
