A Sacramento, California woman, Tyrel Parnell, wasn't about to let an intruder get away, who had not only allegedly sacked up her valuables but eaten her food and taken a nap in her home. When Parnell woke up to find 25-year-old Christopher Weaver sleeping on her couch, her initial reaction was to slap his feet off the couch.
Parnell proceeded to trick Weaver by offering him a cup of coffee. She left the room under the pretext of going to get the coffee but returned with a machete.
The most surprising thing about this story is that the intruder actually thought she was going to serve him coffee. He may have been groggy from just waking up, but he should have guessed she was leaving the room for another reason.
As reported by Fox 6, Parnell says "her faith in God -- and a really big knife -- got her through the ordeal".
Parnell, who says she knows exactly how to use the knife, recounts what happened when she unsheathed the weapon. She told Weaver, "No, you need to get back. You need to sit down right here and stay and wait for the cops to get here".
According to CBS News, it appears that Weaver entered the home by kicking a large hole through the back door.
Deputies arrested Weaver when they arrived on the scene. He was later released on bail but was recently picked up for driving a stolen car.
Maybe being caught so often will deter Weaver from future criminal activity. As for Parnell, she probably won't have to worry as much about would-be intruders now that news of this incident is out.
