You're probably thinking it can't possibly be that hard to pick six lottery numbers, but apparently it's not that simple. If it was, there would be a Mega Millions jackpot winner every drawing. If you only match five numbers, you'd still have a chance at $250,000, or perhaps even $1,000,000 if you spend an extra dollar on the Megaplier option. Two California Mega Millions Lottery Tickets Still Unclaimed

Are you holding onto an unclaimed Mega Millions ticket? According to California Lottery officials, there are two tickets that haven't been accounted for. One ticket was purchased at Escape Snack Bar, 3360 32nd Street Naval Base in San Diego for the September 14, 2012 drawing, and is worth $170,827. The five lucky lottery numbers were (16, 17, 21, 40, 51), but not the Mega Ball number (20).

The other Mega Millions winning ticket was purchased at Market One Liquor, 16052 Gale Avenue in Hacienda Heights for the December 18, 2012 drawing, and is worth a whopping $446,292! The lottery winner matched five out of six Mega Millions winning numbers (1, 6, 7, 18, 29), but not the Mega Ball number (16) for the second-tier prize.

If you're holding onto either winning ticket, California Lottery officials want to remind winners they only have 180 days from the date of the draw to claim prizes. The San Diego Mega Millions ticket will expire at the close of business March 13, 2013 and the unclaimed funds will be transferred to California schools. You don't want to risk losing all that money because you forgot to claim your ticket!

The most recent Mega Millions results for the January 15, 2013 drawing were 1, 6, 12, 19, 41, the Mega Ball number was 14, and the Megaplier number was X 4. There were no Mega Millions jackpot winners for this drawing.

What Time is Tonight's Mega Millions Drawing?

The next Mega Millions drawing time is scheduled for Friday, January 18, 2013 at 11 p.m. EST. Friday's jackpot amount is an estimated $70,000,000 annuity, or a one-time cash option of $52,000,000 before taxes. Mega Millions winning numbers are drawn Tuesday and Friday evenings at WSB-TV in Atlanta, Georgia. Tickets are sold in 42 states plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
