Jill Meagher update: The only suspect in the rape and murder of the 29-year-old Melbourne woman reportedly plans on contesting the charges against him when the case goes to trial in March. Adrian Ernest Bayley has long been reported as the prime suspect in the woman's death — and is even reported as the person who revealed the location of her body.
The murder case will be heard on the 12th and 13th of March and then Bayley intends on contesting the charges against him — and there's no telling how this will end. The level of evidence against him is mostly unknown due to the case information being sealed from the media and public. It's possible that the public won't know everything until during or after the trial — if at all.
Hopefully Jill Meagher gets justice for what happened to her. Her case not only shocked Australia but rippled all the way around the world from Ireland where she hailed to the USA where followers of crime stories hoped she'd be found. If Bayley contests the charges against him and is successful, could someone else be responsible for this? Or do court officials really have their guy?
