A woman in Darwin, Australia has been accused by her neighbor, of stealing sperm from her Siberian husky in an attempt to breed puppies. Jessica Pickering says she was first alerted of her neighbor's alleged efforts to steal sperm from her husky named Komet, when her house-sitter called Pickering while she was on vacation in Melbourne, according to Digital Spy. The 24-year-old Pickering claims the woman put a dog in her backyard for Komet to impregnate.
If this is true, one has to wonder how many times it may have happened before. The other neighbors will probably be keeping a closer eye on their own dogs.
"She didn't ask for permission and if she did ask for permission I would have agreed but a profit is just an added bonus," said Pickering, as reported by Big Pond News.
Pickering speculates that her neighbor didn't ask for permission because she was too selfish to share the profits. She went on to say she bought Komet as a pet, not for breeding purposes.
In an effort to prevent further incidents, Pickering's house-sitter has chained and locked the garden gate.
As lucrative as dog breeding can be, sperm theft isn't a crime that most people, even those with valuable dogs, would anticipate. In a case like this, something could have been stolen that was never even missed.

I hope MaMa has a big litter of beautiful healthy puppies and the sperm thief is found by the courts not to be entitled to any of them.
