According to the Houston Chronicle, the Baytown man and his friends won $2,000,000 after matching five out of six white Powerball winning numbers, but not the red Powerball number for the February 2 drawing.
The Texas Powerball winners didn't waste any time cashing in the winning Powerball ticket either, having won on their prize on Saturday, then showing up to claim their $2,000,000 check on Wednesday.
The standard amount for a second-tier prize is normally $1,000,000, but these lucky friends spent an extra dollar on the Power Play option which automatically doubled the prize amount to $2,000,000! The winning ticket was purchased at Kroger at the 4500 block of Garth Road in Baytown, Texas.
