Four years after Haleigh Cummings disappeared from her Satsuma, Florida home, there has been no trace of the girl who would now be 9 years old. She was reported missing on February 10th, 2009 after being left in the care of her father's 15-year-old girlfriend, Misty Croslin. Croslin claimed that the girl had vanished while sleeping in the same room with her, but information later came out that a cousin of hers may have been involved in the little girl's disappearance.
Both Croslin, who married Haleigh's father, Ronald Cummings not long after she disappeared, as well as Ronald Cummings himself, are currently sitting in prison on drug dealing charges. Prosecutors had originally offered lighter sentences for information about Haleigh's disappearance, but no one gave anything up.
After four years, where is Haleigh? After originally saying she had no knowledge of what happened to Haleigh Cummings, Croslin told investigators that her cousin, Joe Overstreet, had shoved a screaming Haleigh into a black bag and taken her as a substitute for a gun he had intended to take from the girl's father.
It seems as though Misty Croslin is following in the lying footsteps of Casey Anthony and Jodi Arias. Like these women, she will continue to lie until she's forced by evidence to rewrite her story to accommodate the changes. Though she will spend the next 25 years in prison for dealing drugs, it's not exactly justice for the little girl taken on her watch. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has released the above age-progressed photo of her, hoping that maybe she is still out there somewhere. At the time of her disappearance, Haleigh was 3 feet tall, with strawberry-blonde hair and brown eyes, and weighed 39 pounds. She also has birthmarks on her back and her left cheek. Have you seen Haleigh?
