How did Elisa Lam die? It looks like the cause of death will remain a mystery for a while longer—until toxicology results are returned. This indicates a substance might have been behind the Canadian tourist's demise. This sad update comes just after it was revealed that the water at Cecil Hotel doesn't contain any harmful bacteria as a result of her body being in the water tank. That's good news, at least, if there is truly any to be had in this story.

Elisa Lam vanished at the end of January while vacationing by herself in southern California. The last known sighting of the girl is forever immortalized in the surveillance footage released by the LAPD. The footage, as is widely reported, shows the woman behaving erratically. She can be seen pushing all of the buttons of an elevator and then darting her head in and out of it before hiding against the inside walls.
Hopefully those toxicology results come in soon, because it would be interesting to find out if she had any substances in her system. Judging by her expressive behavior in the surveillance footage of her in the elevator, it's easy to speculate that drugs or alcohol might be in her system.
