Popular retailer Lululemon is authorizing a massive yoga pants recall, as droves of aghast women rush back to stores demanding to return obscenely sheer workout tights they say they couldn't possibly wear in public without getting arrested.
In fact, the fashion faux pas was so severe that Lululemon shares have begun to tumble. At last look today, they were down 2.8 percent near the close of trading in New York, for a whopping 16 percent overall decline according to analysts' recent estimates.
And the official 'Great Lululemon Yoga Pants Recall' hasn't really even begun yet!
The fashionable exercise item sells for almost $100 a pair and represents nearly 17 percent of all pants sales, so the mad dash to unload them is going to have "a significant impact" on financial results, the company has begrudgingly confirmed.
A Lululemon spokesperson claims the overly transparent quality of the popular gym item this year was not intentional, but rather due to a manufacturing defect in the black Luon bottoms only.
Whether they are unlawfully sheer for use as public attire or not, company heads aren't in the mood to argue. Stores are already voluntarily acknowledging the Lululemon yoga pants recall even before it goes into effect.
Full refunds or exchanges are now available to any and all squeamish customers who purchased the daring black ones after March 1st, either in Lululemon brick-and-mortar stores or online.
