Tamerlan Tsarnaev's "best friend" and two others were brutally murdered in 2011, months before the 26-year-old went for a prolonged visit to Russia in 2012. The murder remains unsolved and now the former friends of Tamerlan, or "Tam" as he was known, "suspect him of the worst."
The three men were found "stabbed to death in the neck," with marijuana dumped over their bodies. One former friend, "Ray," spoke with Buzzfeed. He said, "A few of my friends, without even speaking about it beforehand have all been thinking this..." and further noted that the murder victims must have known the perpetrator, as there was "no forced entry."
Indeed, Middlesex District Attorney Gerard Leone said at the time that "...it is believed that the victims knew the assailant or assailants, and the attacks were not random." He also disturbingly referred to the crime scene as "very graphic." It is heartbreaking to think that the families of these three young men still do not have answers, two years later.
One of the victims, Brandon Mess, was Tam's "best friend," according to John Allan, owner of Wai Kru Mixed Martial Arts where the two worked out. In light of the horrific Boston Marathon bombings, it is no surprise that Tam's friends would start to question everything about him. Perhaps police should take a fresh look at the investigation, with Tamerlan Tsarnaev in mind.
