The search for Willow Long is now over, but on a heartbreaking note. Her body has been discovered (though the official identification has not yet been made) and her 22-year-old uncle has been charged with first-degree murder. Now her loved ones must pick up the pieces and learn to move on with their lives even though they have lost not one, but two, of their family members over this incident.
Over 400 volunteers took part in the search for little Willow over the past few days, but ultimately those searches proved futile in bringing her home safe and alive. The seven-year-old girl was found by searchers, and an autopsy has been scheduled with the results likely to never be fully clarified. So just how did this little girl die? If she was murdered by an older male relative the statistics point to sexual abuse, but anything is probable.
In the end, it is hopeful that there is justice for the murder of Willow Long.
