As the Amanda Knox retrial heats up in Italy, new proof that she is innocent is front and center in the case. Will this finally clear her name once and for all?
According to a report from RadarOnline, the knife supposedly used (according to the prosecution) by Knox to kill her roommate Meredith Kercher does not have any of the victim's DNA on it. This is a huge plus for the defense.
Knox's DNA was found on the kitchen knife, but her roommate's was not. This means the knife in question wasn't even the murder weapon. It's becoming increasingly clear that this case was botched from the very beginning, and that Knox was held in an Italian jail cell for absolutely no wrong doing.
"The results of the report categorically exclude that the knife was the murder weapon," Giulia Bongiorno, Raffaele Sollecito's lawyer said in an interview. "It is the latest demonstration that there is nothing linking the crime with Raffaele and Amanda, because the only connection was the murder weapon, but this report excludes that it is it."
Raffaele was Knox's boyfriend at the time, and the knife in question was discovered inside his apartment.
Neither Amanda Knox nor Raffaele Sollecito are in Italy for the retrial. Do you think their names will finally be cleared from having anything to do with the murder of Meredith Kercher?
