"Grape soda murder" is what some people are calling a case in Tennessee. The soda was apparently used by the parents of a 5-year-old that were forcing her to drink it as a punishment. A report now states that they have been charged with her murder after the autopsy results came in.
It has been rumored that she spilled a drink and it led to a very excessive punishment from parents Randall and Mary Vaughn. The case dates back to Jan. 1, 2012, when it was stated that the little girl was brought into the emergency room. She was non-responsive almost immediately and an investigation began into what took place.
The information that has been reported states that the parents forced her to drink more than 2 liters of the soda and water in less than two hours time. It would be tough for most people to do that, but this was being forced on a 5-year-old. She suffered brain swelling from all the liquid intake and herniated.
This grape soda murder has led to the parents being held on $500,000 bond each at the Hawkins County Jail in Tennessee. They are going to face significant charges for this cruel punishment and are not earning any supporters around the country.
What do you think would be a fair punishment for these parents? Should this be classified as premeditated murder? What do you think would be a fair punishment for these parents? Should this be classified as premeditated murder?
